Find the best tools and resources for finding low ticket prices, including some tips from the pros. There are probably hundreds of different ways to book tickets online. Unfortunately, there is not one perfect site for making reservations that will guarantee the lowest airfare possible. But you can certainly save yourself time by starting with these sites that will often produce the same flights that you will find even if you spend hours bouncing from one travel site to another.

Matrix Flight Search - The most flexible tool I've found to search for airfares. If you're schedule is usually flexible according to ticket price, this tool is amazing. Not sure what day in the month you want to fly, or which airports you want to use? No problem, ITA software lets you explore multiple options unlike any other tool I have seen.

Kayak - Kayak is my go to site for searching for low available airfares. It includes most major airlines, but note that some are excluded, including Southwest Airlines. So, you'll want to go to their website too since often their prices may be the lowest.

Bing Travel - Search for a flight on Bing, and often they will give you a prediction on whether or not waiting to buy the ticket is a good idea. Unfortunately, for non-cookie cutter (one-way, last minute, etc.) flights, the information is not available.

Virgin America - Virgin sometimes only offers their lowest airfares available on their website, a practice that many other airlines are beginning to embrace.
